With a heavy heart I’ve decided to kill Alt Right 2.0. Though perhaps “abort” is the better word. We’re still in the first trimester, so it doesn’t feel terribly significant. Still, I held out for some time, and it took a lot of prodding from my autistic big brother and gay uncle before I listened to reason.
Like Hanania, I have a mix of "Yes, right on!" and violent disagreement with what you have published here. A movement requires some degree of intellectual subordination, with everyone on message. You won't get that, and you don't need it.
For example, lots of otherwise decent people won't want to buy into a movement that wants stupid normies and their fat, ugly wives to be law-abiding and nice and productive so that a groovy, nihilistic elite can enjoy depraved sex without the vibe being ruined. The mass appeal is just not there.
Another example: I sent your shame-on-you-Prolifers to some of my Pro-life pals, prefacing it with, this guy is kind of a dick, and I don't always agree with him, but this piece has a lot of ugly truth that will hurt and needs to be heard.
A scene allows a variegated and unstructured conversation, and a search for shared views on particular things, without ever having to march in step.
DC think tanks seem to be suited to providing concrete policy analysis and advice. What's lacking is a new vision for the right, especially a post-MAGA and post-Great Awokening direction. If you succeed in creating a metapolitical idea space, big developments could occur. CSPI could also be useful in bringing together eclectic voices and integrating young writers with high human capital who need it cultivated.
I too have profoundly warm feelings about the movement, but only my closest friends know that I was a memelord. I do not want to come out of the closet retroactively. This is a wise move.

Many of us who contributed were young anon edgelords and probably did not fully believe in everything the movement stood for. We were young male losers behind a keyboard that had never seen a woman naked in real life and the energy had to go somewhere.
For example, I was never a white nationalist (even though I do not think there is anything morally wrong with that). I am sure that at the time I tried to convince myself that the ick I felt about white nationalism was due to propaganda from big jew or something stupid. Now I just realize that I am insanely high openness.
I contributed to a movement that made funny memes about Hollywood propaganda, but I also had a Crimes and Misdemeanors poster on my wall. Schizo.
I will stop my ramble, but the point is that many of us are now rich and successful and will probably have a much easier time influencing people if we are not associated with the alt-right. And I am sure many other fellow travelers expressed beliefs they did not fully believe in either. So associating with the alt-right is doubly stupid. But it was a wonderful time.

An interesting read, mainly coming from your March 6th "Why I'm No Longer a White Nationalist" article. You'll have to forgive the obvious fundamental disagreement we at WLM tend to have when it comes to certain elements of your political views, but we in the Montana chapter at least practice an ecumenical policy when it comes to Nationalists. Pushing from multiple directions is vital to move the needle further, and we recognize what you are pushing towards is Nationalist in its fundamental nature.
Truly, it sounds like you fell into a particularly boring portion of the American genetic stockpile when it came to moving to the Midwest. Whites produce adventurous types all the time as a common trait, seeking the horizon in a variety of ways, but there's also the "hobbit" types you encountered. As noisy and quick-moving and onery those coastal-types are, most of them are just another form of placid NPC lemming sort with no true ambition and no agency to speak of. They are, as I inform the others, the prizes for the victors. You'll only disappoint yourself if you seek to find heroism in your average peasant, though you will find heroes in the most unlikely of places among them. Expecting cities full of rugged frontiersmen in the rotting remains of a post-industrial rustbelt township is like trying to find bookworms in a biker bar. These dying townships literally select for the tired, homesick, and unambitious. No wonder you, an ambitious and vital soul, were dissatisfied among the humble lichen of our race!
But those boring hobbits are genetic wells of enterprising spirits. They spawn there, emerge, diverge to the horizons, and sometimes return to their spawning grounds to repeat the cycle. They need to be protected, boring and prickly as they might be, because they surely can't protect themselves. The types you do like, those kindred spirits that you find simulacra among a few theoretical other-racial stand-ins, come overwhelmingly from these pools. It's like they are computers with the right kind of hardware to run the games you like on them, but many of them have been programmed to just have Solitaire. Oh well, but some have the potential for adventure. After all, there were a few hobbits of note who had an adventurous streak in them...
What we like to say here is that we can walk AND chew gum at the same time. The reason people like Matt Walsh and Hanania and whomever else can speak is because of the cultural and intellectual cover being run by sorts like our group continuously pushing those basic redpills into the dinner table conversations everywhere. Artists, like yourself, getting ideas memetically implanted into common parlance. The Noticing spreading even to normies as their bread and circuses become increasingly disrupted by noticeable things. The attempts by most mainstream politicians to speak on these issues is expressly to curve the natural conclusions of the Nation-State and racial security back towards an ultimately status-quo, kosher-approved direction. Why wouldn't they? They are the Cronus generation, devouring their own children trying to prolong their rule.
We all know that the ideal society, the one that you yearn for as well as your audience, is achieved through a foundation of White racial stock with other elements not meddling in our affairs of state or culture. An ideal society interfaces with, not integrates, with other nations and races. It is the society without Kipling's Stranger in its midst, where we fundamentally understand one another because those around us are largely us in slightly different configuration, not absolutely alien minds with foreign gods lurking in their blood. The march towards an ideal society where grandiose civilization sets the stage from which great adventures to new worlds and fresh insights is a march towards a society of our racial and national own. To achieve that ideal is to achieve racial reharmonization, and to reharmonize will facilitate achieving that ideal state. It needn't be compromised at this moment where the needle is so obviously and quickly moving. Now is the time to push harder than ever before!
Anyway, I trust you'll be putting your talents to further use one way or another. I'd enjoy hearing more Walt Bismarck myself. What we need most of all is vision. Inspiration. Encapsulations of what our new myth is as a people. The old American myths are dying, and all manner of monsters are trying to be born from the corpse. It's a great fertilizer for something, so lets all try in our own ways to sow some good seeds there, right?
